We live next to (and I do mean physically, RIGHT next to) our neighborhood playground. I keep the windows closed and blinds down on that side of the house. We have a wall of tall, thick shrubs to absorb the noise and I play my music at a reasonable level. There is also a curfew that starts at 9 pm. Is there any way you can create a fence or set up some tall potted plants? FWIW my inlaws live next to railroad tracks. You get used to noise quickly. Good luck!

OMG, we have just one with a basketball right across the street and the sound drives me crazy! Put on some music or the TV and try to tune it out. Eventually, it will just become a part of the soundtrack of your life, just like your child's most annoying toys did!

You can put up high hedges to help buffer the noise and buy new energy efficient windows (always aluminum never vinyl windows). the cheapest thing to do would be to just buy some of those ear plugs that let in a little noise. their kids, it's summer and they should be having fun.

If you have a neighborhood organization try to get involved , suggest that a basketball court and playground built sort off out of the way of everyones houses… in the middle or outers of the neighborhood..or explain your issue to your neighbor and maybe they could enroll them in afterschool care….

ask if you can join in.
start to BBQ eels.
Play Bobby Sherman albums really loud
Invite them all over for milk and cookies and serve them gin.
these are all the thoughts that went through my mind here.
What I ended up doing? nothing- i reminded myself that they will grow up soon and move on. Play classical music in the house softly in the background. Or the radio between stations so all you hear is "white noise" Good luck- it’s a long summer ahead for us.
