How to look and act like a mixture between Jack Sparrow and the Joker?

Saturday, January 30th, 2010

Me and some friends are going to do a "movie" involving us running around in town and visiting shops and talking to strange people, of course while we're playing different characters. Mine is supposed to be a mix between the Joker (from Dark Knight) and Jack Sparrow.

Any tips on how to act like? How to look? Pretty please? :)

First, your going to have to figure out your characters motive.
what he wants from people.

technically, joker and jack sparrow are two different characters.

Joker doesn't mind getting into problems and situations as long as he can take others out also or turn people against each other and be a puppet master of sorts, jack sparrow avoids situations but will fight when he has to and just doesn't general doesn't obey the normal rules where the Joker likes to make them.

Sounds like your just going for "crazy" though. talk a bunch of nonsense, use your hands to over emphasize things. quick movements, your uncertain and unpredictable and always changing your mind. Don't keep constant eye contact with people you talk to. scratch your head now and then.
Develop a random twitchlike thing of your character, like a sharp shoulder movement or such, smile, play with your hands and fingers.

Save Your Marriage Before It’s Too Late

Saturday, January 30th, 2010

Everyone wants to have a happy marriage. A happy marriage is one of the finest things life can offer. But after some time different kinds of problems appear in our life. It is true that many people give up on a marriage too soon, and too many marriages end up being weighted down by unresolved difficulties.

What happens if none of those things from the beginning of your relationship are happening any more such as: the little favors nowadays, cook your favorite meal, buy you something special; those little things that showed you she cares about you. Knowing that you may be losing the person you love is hard on anyone. Like most people in your situation you are probably feeling scared and confused, not knowing what to do next. If you feel that your marriage is crisis, don’t show your partner that you’re panicking; try to keep calm and in control your emotions.

Both of you need to remember that no matter how bleak things seem, it is possible for many marriages to get back on course, but both husband and wife should be willing to cooperate. The important thing is to stay calm and to know what to avoid and what to aim for to make relationship work. You can save your marriage even if your partner wants a separation, she asks for divorce, or doesn’t love you anymore. But to stop divorce you need to avoid doing what hurts your relationship, knowing that there’s always a hope to save your marriage.

Jealousy is one of the reasons why most people get divorce, but is not the only one. If she caught you with infidelity and that’s why she wants to get divorce, the hardest thing you will need to do is to rebuild trust in your relationship: always be on time home, do what you say you do and be honest. Also, never lie to your spouse again, communicate clearly all the time, take time to reassure your spouse if she feels insecure, show her affection on regular basis and also be patient with her.

As I said there are many other reasons why people get divorce. This is usually a big mistake so try first to do all the sacrifices that are necessary to save your marriage.

-first and the most important is to identify your problems; take an honest look at the relationship and determine what the problems are; truly express what is disturbing you in, as much details as possible; look for solutions rather that blaming your partner

-if you are guilty for this situation, show her your companion, respect and affection; everyday remind her how much you love her and put meaning from the heart into those words

-start doing things that were usually done when both were still in loved and married

-express your feelings, communicate your feelings honestly and openly as you can

-establish open dialog and begin to compromise and heal; discuss about your feelings and come to an agreement about what you feel the relationship needs

-also you have to learn to listen as well; the things that are brought up should be treated as guides so that the couple will learn how to respect each other’s feelings and points of view; she may talk about what she is feeling regarding the relationship

-you have to work hard to understand and change what is bothering your partner in the relationship; even if she still loves you, she may see some persistent problems in you, and that’s why she may have lost hope for the relationship because of them; you have to understand better your partner’s perception of these problems

-if you are getting stale on your sex life, talk to each other, spend more time alone just the two of you, go on a vacation

-open yourself to the fact that any issue can be understood and interpreted in a variety of ways, otherwise you will continue to stay in a rut

-think about the ways you contribute to the situation

-learn to internalize and understand that your partner is not you; both have to find ways to empathize with the other’s point of view

-appreciate the value of the other’s experience in the way that is different than yours

-don’t allow old negative behavior patterns to swamp the present moment

-learn to forgive and forget; learn to forget anything and accept one another; bringing up the past will not save the marriage; one must learn to forgive the spouse and forget all the mistakes from the past

-seek both for a solution; remember that you are two different people; is not about who is wining here, it’s about respect, intimacy, growth and emergence

-set goals to work as a couple, such as: to communicate without arguing, to attempt to do things as a couple, to find an end to your problems, and also write down your feelings and allow the other to read them

-last but not at least, be patient; your marital problems did not crop up overnight and they will not be healed overnight; discuss all the emotions that you both feel until you are centered and ready to begin anew

So, if you have some problems in your marriage, wait first to see if that marriage can be saved, don’t be hurry to get divorced. Always have to think positive, that there is a hope to save your marriage no matter how many problems appear in your life. And remember that to have lasting satisfaction you need to know how to keep love and good feelings alive.

Wedding Traditions: Giving Away The Bride

Saturday, January 30th, 2010

"And who gives this woman in marriage to this man?"

There are few more controversial words uttered in the modern wedding ceremony. The words are so socially loaded to some people's way of thinking, in fact, that if you have a ceremony presided over by a justice of the peace, he or she will likely not say the phrase.

Why? The reason for the controversy is rooted in the origins of the tradition behind giving the bride away. Not very long ago at all, women were considered to be the property of men. This applied not just to wives, but to daughters as well. Many people see the giving away of the bride as an extension of patriarchal systems which for centuries kept women from being recognized as equals. To these people, the phrase is archaic and even harmful in the modern era.

Alternative Meaning: There is also a school of thought that interprets the giving of the bride as a symbolic realization of the Bible verse that describes a marriage as two people leaving their families to start a new life together. In this context, the phrase is used less as an exchange of property and more as the exchange of one support system for another.

Using the phrase today. Most people who choose to include the giving of the bride in their ceremonies today choose to see it as an incarnation of the latter interpretation. In this case, the bride is saying goodbye to her family (and more specifically her father) as the main male role in her life and her father is acknowledging a diminished role.

Alternative phrases. If you are still uncomfortable with the phrase but still wish to include some elements of the symbolic in your ceremony, you might consider some alternative methods to the actual giving of the bride. One practice that is becoming popular is for both parents to acknowledge giving away the bride. Another is both the parents of the bride and the groom replying that they give their children to each other.

Like many of our common practices, giving away of the bride at a wedding ceremony has its roots in a past that was not always fair. Just because the origins of the tradition were misdirected, however, does not mean that it cannot change into something positive. Like nursery Rhymes, fairy tales, and organized sport, traditional wedding practices such as giving away the bride can take on a relevant and proper meaning in modern society.

Dog Diets – Choosing Between 2 Popular Choices

Saturday, January 30th, 2010

Canned dog food versus dry kibble is an argument that has been going on for sometime now – or at least ever since commercially manufactured and artificially packed into aesthetic looking bags kind of goodies seemed to hit grocery stores that are haunted by dog-owners in the flurry of discovering the worth of the variety they buy for Fido! Well, the truth be told, a dog's diet is what determines every facet of their health and total well being, so it is only fair that a dog-owner and true dog-lover is bound to be faced by the above dilemmas sometime; however, wanting the best for your four-legged canine friend is not the problem – it's knowing there is too much variety!

Okay, so we were Kidding right there – but the fact is that with so many options open, it can get a tad difficult to decide which one has more pros than cons for keeping as a daily diet option for your pampered pooch and which should only be emergency fare when his favorite dog chow is not available!

Many dog owners prefer to go with dry kibble while others prefer to quibble over the benefits of canned, moist dog food that comes in a variety of flavors and with as much supplement value as marked on the kibble; so how exactly does one get to know which has more advantages in the main components department till one actually does a scientific comparative analysis? Possibly, short of lab tests that compare results in a chemical break-down and biological benefits package, there is only the outward, obvious signs of a dog's glowing fur and strong, flexible and energetic body movements and possibly superior good looks – or, as it is the case with simple dog lovers – it's just a case of letting pooch choose his pet preferences in food!

You can consider discussing the advantages and disadvantages of each type of dog food with the professionals your dog trusts with his health i.e the vet and the dog trainer for example, who are two people who have enormous experience in dealing with healthy, happy and different breeds of dogs to know what works for each one. On the practical side of course, the prohibitive price tag of most tinned dog chow brands can be a deciding factor for dog-owners choosing kibble as canned food may not be affordable on a regular basis for the bigger breeds.

Of course, the benefits of large chunks of real meat with lesser additives that is filling and nutritious cannot be overlooked in canned dog food; also it is something that that appeals to their basic carnivorous nature that canned dog food is typically readily accepted and relished by all but the picky eater variety of dogs, so is good for maintaining good health, is moist therefore easy to chew and less hassle-free for the dog-owner too.

Now, coming to dry kibble – since it is dry and hard, with lesser moister than canned dog food, it benefits the oral hygiene by preventing tartar and plaque problems; it also does not need to be put in the fridge after opening like canned food requires so is easy to store and carry on journeys, therefore proves to be economical, convenient and a healthy diet option for your dog.

Of course, the last choice for which is better is best made by your dog's vet and – Fido himself, so choose quality and good health will automatically follow whether you choose to go with kibble or canned!

Skoda, the New Driving Force Behind Vw’s Profits

Saturday, January 30th, 2010

Long gone are the days when Skoda was the target of cruel Jokes in the motoring industry. Sokda is now rapidly catching up with Audi in increasing the profits for VW which incorporated Skoda almost fifteen years from now. Skoda cars were once considered so dangerous to drive that the VW executives refuse to commute in them but all that has now changed and Skoda have come down a path of steady improvements in their models.

The VW’s Skoda venture had been written off by many analysts in the motoring industry citing the un-predictable future of the Czech state. At the time of the initial VW involvement with Skoda, the new government after the velvet revolution had started selling off state assets and Skoda only had one model, the Skoda Favorit in production at the time. Skoda executives were told by VW to either go back to the drawing board and design a brand new car or it’s the end of the line for Skoda. Mr. Detlef Wittig, a VW executive at the time of the VW takeover of Skoda and who now runs Skoda, jokes about how Skoda used to be the favoured target of all the cruellest jokes in the motoring industry where it used to be called “ a skip on wheels “ etc. Preset day analysts predict a very bright future for Skoda and admire the VW efforts and the decision to stick it through hard times for Skoda and give it an image where it is no longer considered a low class name.

The Geneva Car Show in March, 2007 will see the launch of the new generation Skoda Fabia Roomster Multipurpose vehicle and with a 5.5% increase in demand for this model plus a 45% increase in car sales due to manufacturing in China and India, Skoda is well on its way to improving the market share price for its parent company VW. The main reason for the popularity of Skoda models is thought to be due to the consumer wanting a similar feel as one would get driving an Audi or a VW but at the fraction of the cost. Skoda seems to fulfil this desire nicely and the quality of the latest generation models seems to improve with every new model launched.
